Design

McCall's 2255 dresses one of the era's glamorous "high heel figure" dolls for seven different occasions, and includes the company's then-new "Easy-Rule" feature - a printed ruler guide built right into the pattern tissue for a faster, more accurate fit. View A is a simple long-sleeve leotard, shared as the foundation for View B, which adds fitted pants and a wide cummerbund sash for an evening pantsuit look. View C is a hooded jacket paired with a full plaid skirt and its own crinoline petticoat. View D is a ballet-style tutu with a net ruffle skirt. View E is a formal gown, sewn with or without a separate lining, worn with a rhinestone-trimmed crown, and View F is a matching fur-cuffed evening coat. View G rounds out the wardrobe with a simple bra and panties set.

This wardrobe was designed for the "high heel figure" fashion dolls of the later 1950s - grown-up, adult-proportioned dolls with molded heels, predating Mattel's Barbie by about a year. McCall's 2255 named six of them: Revlon, Cindy, Missy, Toni Sophisticate, Junior Miss, and Sweet Sue Sophisticate. This is a Size 12" copy.
