Design
Simplicity Pattern 3669 is one of the fullest baby doll wardrobes of its day, with forty-two pieces across seven views. Both dresses have puff sleeves, a round collar, and a full gathered skirt: View 1 is trimmed in rick-rack with a contrasting band, a wide ribbon sash, and a matching bonnet, and View 2 is finished with lace insertion, lace edging, and a ribbon bow. The coat (View 3) has raglan sleeves, a collar, four buttons, and braid trim, with its own bonnet. Underneath goes a slip with a gathered, ruffled skirt and matching panties with elastic at the waist and legs, both trimmed in lace (View 4). For play there are pants with elastic at the back waist, shoulder straps, and rick-rack, worn with a puff-sleeved top (View 5) or as overalls with a matching bonnet (View 6). The pajamas (View 7) have a top gathered at the neck, long raglan sleeves with elastic at the wrists, and lace-trimmed pants. Simplicity suggested cottons and blends or linen throughout, with corduroy, velveteen, rayons, silks, or synthetics for the coat and playclothes, and wools for the coat.
