Design
Vogue 1044 pairs an easy-fitting dress with a coordinating fitted slip worn beneath it, the two working together through a side front opening that reveals a glimpse of the slip fabric underneath. A straight neckline and sleeves set into shaped armholes - offered in three-quarter or above-elbow length - keep the silhouette clean and architectural, in keeping with Jacques Griffe's understated approach to eveningwear. The pattern offers two views: a self-fabric rendition, and a version pairing a solid dress with a contrast-print slip that shows through the front closure for a graphic, two-tone effect.
