Design
This front-closing blouse has an attached collar and is offered in two sleeve styles: a long set-in sleeve gathered to a wristband, or a short sleeve built from a separate cut inset. It pairs with side-closing shorts pressed into inverted plaits at each hip, or a three-piece, front-closing skirt finished with patch pockets — letting the same tailored blouse serve either an active, sport-ready look or a fuller, more ladylike one, all from an eighteen-piece pattern.
A Moment in Fashion History
This envelope is a small piece of pattern-company detective work. It's branded simply "Own Name" rather than carrying a company name outright — and its construction, sizing, and printed style match the New York Pattern Company so closely that it's understood to be that same company's line, stripped of its usual branding. We've written more about how this identification was made on our Patreon.
Illustration
The cover illustration has been digitally restored and enhanced by Judy Yates to highlight the original fashion artwork while preserving the character and artistry of this historic pattern envelope.
