Design

McCall's Pattern 2468 gives a toddler or baby doll everything for a full week of play. View A pairs the dress with a bias-bound pinafore whose pocket holds a little stuffed toy giraffe, embroidered in orange with a tiny black sequin for an eye. View B is the dress on its own: a sleeveless bodice and a full gathered skirt trimmed with bands and small bows, worn over an organdy petticoat and finished with a tie belt and tatting-type lace edging. View C is a cozy coat with a square collar edged in lacy ruching, long sleeves, and a button front, worn with a ruched bonnet and long overalls; corduroy or velveteen is suggested for this view. View D is a lined sunsuit with a ruffled seat, closed with hammer-on snaps and worn with a matching bonnet. View E is a set of shortie pajamas with puffed sleeves, ruffled lace edging, and a bias-bound neck with ties. View F is a pair of lace-edged panties. The suggested fabrics are wash cottons or synthetics throughout.

Doll Details

This pattern is One Size, for dolls 22"-23" tall. The envelope names Kissy and Betsy Wetsy, both from the Ideal Toy Company. Kissy was new in 1961, the same year as this pattern, and Betsy Wetsy was Ideal's long-running drink-and-wet baby doll. The pattern also fits other dolls of the same size and build. McCall's printed a full set of body measurements on the envelope back and advised measuring your doll before cutting.
