Design

Pattern 3006 was shown made up as a "most wearable" long-waisted frock in blue serge, trimmed with black braid bindings and a touch of embroidery on the vest. The bloused waist and kimono sleeve give an easy, unfitted line typical of girls' wear in the period, while the vest offers a natural spot for decorative trimming or embroidery. The underwaist closes at front for a secure fit beneath the loose bloused layer, and the gathered skirt is set with elastic at the join for comfortable movement.

A Moment in Fashion History

Pattern 3006 appeared in the March 1921 issue of The Ladies' Home Journal, featured in a spread of Easter clothing for girls "from two to fourteen." Styled in blue serge with black braid and embroidery, it was singled out as especially practical and wearable - a favorite combination of comfort and quiet decoration typical of the era's girls' fashions.
