Circa 1921 Ladies' Home Journal Pattern No. 3006, confirmed via the March 1921 issue, for a girls' long-waisted dress with vest, size 14, to be slipped on over the head. The bloused waist has full-length kimono sleeves, perforated for a shorter length, and may be made with or without a collar. An underwaist closes at the front, and a one-piece straight-gathered skirt joins at an elasticized casing. Factory Folded and Unused.

Design
Pattern 3006 builds a long-waisted slip-over dress from eight pieces, its bloused kimono waist cut with a full-length sleeve that can be shortened along a perforated guideline, and finished with or without a collar. A separate vest sets into the front, and a front-closing underwaist anchors the whole bodice beneath it. Below, a one-piece straight-gathered skirt joins the waist along an elasticized casing rather than a fitted seam, giving the long-waisted silhouette room to move.
A Moment in Fashion History
This pattern appeared in the March 1921 Ladies' Home Journal (page 78), in a feature on children's Easter clothes from two to fourteen. The magazine's own sample was made up in long-waisted blue serge, finished with black braid bindings and a touch of embroidery on the vest - the embroidery worked from a separately sold transfer, No. 14904, rather than anything printed on the dress pattern itself. The long-waisted silhouette and dropped-waist ease shown here were very much the look of the moment for girls' dresses in the early 1920s.
