Design

McCall 9375 keeps its lines clean and tailored - a pointed collar sits above a fitted, belted bodice with patch pockets set at the chest, View B trimmed in contrast fabric along the pocket flaps and collar edge. Below the waist, the skirt stays slim and straight, with a matching inset pocket continuing the pocket detail down through the hip. Fifteen pattern pieces are included, suggested in surah, cotton broadcloth, linen, lightweight wool, shantung, or faille, with velveteen or pique for contrast.

A Moment in Fashion History

Not every early-1950s dress chased the fullest possible skirt - patterns like this one show the era's tailored, streamlined side, favoring a slim silhouette and crisp pocket detailing over dramatic volume, well suited to office and daytime wear.
