Design
A fourteen-piece pattern offering real range across its three views. View A pairs a wrap-front dress with a wide, pointed notched collar and short cap sleeves, cinched with a soft tie belt over a gathered, full skirt, topped with a matching cape-sleeved jacket for a complete ensemble. View B strips the look down to a sleeveless wrap dress with the same tie-belt waist. View C keeps the wide collar but trades the wrap closure for a dress with a contrast waist facing. All three share a softly gathered waist and full skirt designed to move easily through a changing figure, with the wrap and tie details doing the work of a dedicated maternity adjustment.
A Moment in Fashion History
By the early 1950s, maternity patterns had moved well past simple smocks, borrowing the same wide collars, cinched waists, and full skirts defining the era's ordinary daywear.
