Design

McCall's 2267 is a seventeen-piece toddler's set built around McCall's "Easy-Rule" fit system for quicker, more accurate sewing. View A's built-in apron sets it apart: a double scalloped hem in contrasting fabric layers over the gathered skirt, echoing the same scallop along the yoke, while a white Peter Pan collar carries a hand embroidery transfer of a small floral spray worked in pink, rose, and aqua. View B strips away the apron for a simpler puff-sleeved dress in the same collared silhouette. Matching ruffled bloomer panties complete either view, with a back zipper closing the dress.

A Moment in Fashion History

By the late 1950s, toddlers' patterns increasingly borrowed apron-over-dress detailing from adult and girls' fashion, dressing up an otherwise practical play dress for special occasions. McCall's 2267 also reflects the era's push toward easier home sewing, marketed with the company's new "Easy-Rule" feature for improved fit and faster construction - a detail that made a hand-embroidered, scalloped dress like this one approachable even for a less experienced seamstress.
