Design
McCall's 1898 dresses a small doll for six different occasions from just two master pattern pieces. View A is a plaid jumper-style skirt and matching blouse trimmed in baby rickrack, topped with a coordinating beret finished with a pompon cut from ball fringe. View B is a dress with an attached petticoat, the skirt trimmed in baby rickrack over a ruffled underskirt for fullness. View C is a fully lined coat paired with a matching hat and bag, both built over a lightweight cardboard foundation and trimmed in straw braid. View D is a nightgown finished with lace edging and hand embroidery worked in pink, rose, and blue. View E is a sheer net-ruffled peignoir with ribbon ties, hand-embroidered in rose and pink to match the nightgown. View F rounds out the wardrobe with a simple pair of rickrack-trimmed panties.
