Design
Advance 3335 keeps its construction genuinely simple across just eight pieces. Both views share the same gathered-yoke silhouette, with the dress falling loosely from a lace-trimmed collar for easy movement and easy dressing. View 1 pairs this with short puff sleeves for warm-weather wear, closed at the collar with a small button or hook and eye. View 2 swaps in long sleeves instead, gathered to a fitted wristband and closed with snaps for practical cold- weather layering. Matching elastic-waist panties complete either view, giving a full, mix-and-match toddler outfit from one pattern.
A Moment in Fashion History
Wartime fabric conservation shaped even the simplest toddler patterns in the early 1940s, and Advance 3335 reflects that economy: a single eight-piece pattern yielding both a warm-weather and cool-weather version of the same basic dress meant a mother could outfit her child across seasons without needing to purchase or trace an entirely separate pattern.
