Design

Advance 3334 keeps construction genuinely simple across nine pieces, with both views sharing the same gathered-yoke silhouette. View 1 dresses the neckline in embroidered banding and finishes the puff sleeves with lace edging, closed at the back neck with small buttons. View 2 trades the trim for a single fabric worked into long sleeves instead, gathered to a wristband and closed with snaps for practical cold-weather layering. Matching elastic-waist panties complete either view.

A Moment in Fashion History

Wartime fabric conservation shaped even the simplest toddler patterns in the early 1940s, and Advance 3334 reflects that economy: a single nine-piece pattern yielding both a decorative warm-weather version and a plainer long-sleeved version of the same basic dress meant a mother could outfit her child across seasons from one pattern purchase.
