Design
This easy, youthful dress slips on over the head and blouses softly at a slightly low waistline thanks to an elastic-gathered casing. The neckline can be finished oval or in a V, and the long one-piece sleeve is perforated so it can be cut short instead when the weather calls for it. Ruffles at the neck and skirt are optional but were clearly part of the design's intended charm - the Ladies' Home Journal's own June 1922 pages singled this pattern out as an especially lovely way to use lace, recommending it made up entirely in white, or in soft green or yellow lace, for a summer dancing frock with real youthful appeal.
