Design

Vogue 7385 gathers three distinct beach bra silhouettes into a single pattern, each buttoned at the back for easy fit. Style A uses a halter neckband drawn through a shaped cutout to control fullness at the midsection, giving a softly gathered look. Style B offers a longer, more fitted shape with a shaped neckline at both bodice front and back. Style C keeps things simple and straight, finished with a halter neckband and a smooth extension band along the lower edge. Suited to crisp cottons like pique, chambray, or seersucker, or classic linen and denim.

A Moment in Fashion History

By the early 1950s, separates had become a defining feature of American sportswear, and beachwear was no exception. Patterns like this one let women mix and match bra tops with shorts or skirts for the beach or backyard, reflecting a growing postwar appetite for casual, practical clothing that still carried real style.
